This collection comprises of a quincunx of shapes based on the sacred 5 tower structures of Angkor Wat. Inspired by this architecturally striking and elegant temple complex in Cambodia, the collection mirrors its Ogive or Lotus shaped pointed temple apexes, its intricate columns and detailed patternation. Mixing modern, geometric forms and shapes with organic ruin-esque etched surfaces, pieces give the sense of the present and the past assimilating, reviving and renewing the Khmer aesthetic.
The Sikhara charm signifies the connection between the cosmos above us and the earthly, tangible world we live in. The elegant tear drop shape of the Sikhara charm points towards the heavens and the stars and is named after the intricately carved spire structures that represent the many tiers that form the structure of the universe. The Sikhara charm also represents Mount Meru,- a sacred mountain in Buddhist cosmology with five peaks. It is believed to be the center of all the physical, metaphysical and spiritual universes. The tiny, delicately hand-wired seed pearls are also known as 'teardrops of the moon' signifying wisdom and mindfulness.
